Mandatory Qualifications
Interns must be 16 years old by June 10th, 2025. River City High School students must have completed at least one course in one of WUSD’s Career Technical Education Pathways. View qualifying courses here. Yolo High School and Washington Middle College students must have a recommendation form filled out by a teacher or counselor. All participants must have also participated in or watched a recording of an online informational session about the internships offered by the Home Run team.
Responsibilities
The Community Center Customer Service and Special Events Intern would have a variety of responsibilities. These include assisting with planning and conducting department activities, events and programs at the Community Center, and other sites that will include being outdoors.
About the Business
The Special Events team at the West Sacramento Community Center is tasked with creating memorable experiences for the Community. The summer is a great time to experience what it takes to put on many events such as the Rhythm on the River Concerts, Juneteenth Celebration and even a Family Glow Party!

Special Project
As a project the Intern will have the opportunity to plan family fun activities for kids that will take place at the family fun zone for Rhythm on the River Concerts and Family Glow Event. Planning will include researching engaging activities, gathering supplies, working within a budget. They will also conduct the activities at the events.
Additional Information
We would like the intern to work their last event on August 2nd, so that they can be a part of a community event that they will be helping plan.
