Mandatory Qualifications

Interns must be 16 years old by June 10th, 2025. River City High School students must have completed at least one course in one of WUSD’s Career Technical Education Pathways. View qualifying courses here. Yolo High School and Washington Middle College students must have a recommendation form filled out by a teacher or counselor. All participants must have also participated in or watched a recording of an online informational session about the internships offered by the Home Run team.

Responsibilities

Looking to gain hands-on experience in a fun, creative, and fast-paced environment? Apply to be a Summer Dance Camp Intern at Mirror Image Dance Company!

Our interns will train alongside experienced dance instructors and help lead engaging camp activities, assist with arts and crafts, support daily camp setup and cleanup, and work directly with young dancers. You’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look at how a dance studio operates day-to-day!

No dance experience required!

We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals who love working with kids and want to build leadership skills in a supportive, joy-filled space.

Learning outcomes

  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Interns will gain hands-on experience leading activities, guiding young children, and communicating effectively with both campers and staff. They will learn how to give clear instructions, offer encouragement, and resolve small conflicts in a positive and supportive way.

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Interns will work closely with dance instructors, fellow interns, and studio staff to ensure each camp day runs smoothly. They will learn the importance of being reliable, taking initiative, and contributing to a positive team environment.

  • Understanding of Studio Operations: Interns will get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run a successful dance camp and studio. This includes setting up and organizing materials, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supporting the overall structure and flow of daily activities.

Special Project

Interns can choose their projects - they can create and lead a dance, craft, or game! We can help with their idea and guide them if needed!
