Mandatory Qualifications
Interns must be 16 years old by June 10th, 2025. River City High School students must have completed at least one course in one of WUSD’s Career Technical Education Pathways. View qualifying courses here. Yolo High School and Washington Middle College students must have a recommendation form filled out by a teacher or counselor. All participants must have also participated in or watched a recording of an online informational session about the internships offered by the Home Run team.
Responsibilities
You will learn about the products we sell and assist the inside sales with helping customers. This might mean answering the phone, helping with our website, helping with social media, helping load the customers, and doing a ride-along with our outside sales person.
I would like to see the intern find a project online in the public plan rooms that contains our materials and then find the bidders and send them a quote.

Preferred Abilities
We would like an intern who can show up to work on time, and ready to work. It is important that I am able to assign a task to the intern and they can get it done. If they have any questions, I love to explain to them how everything works, but they have to be willing to learn.

Learn about the construction industry, specs and plans.
Learn about customer service.
Special Project
This internship will be an introductory into the materials that are used on construction projects through Northern California. The intern will be able to use this information in the future if they are interested in working in the General Contractor (GC) field. They will be asked to learn the basics of performing a take off, they will get a general understanding of how to read construction plans.
